Dedicated law enforcement professional with over 39 years of public service experience. Began his law enforcement career with the Fairfax County Police Department, rising through the ranks to Commander of Administrative Services Bureau, where he oversaw the budget, resources, and the department’s robust recruiting efforts. He also served as the Director of the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy, where he had oversight of the training cycles and instruction on topics including interview and interrogation, crime scene management, investigative procedures, Homeland Security, and external agency cooperation. This exposure to various leadership roles prepared him to assume his current position as Chief of Police for the Horry County (SC) Police Department. He is dedicated to leadership training and education for executive professionals in law enforcement. As such, he mentors other senior and executive members of police agencies worldwide through his Counterterrorism instruction with the U.S. State Department’s Anti-Terror Assistance Program. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Richmond (VA), and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
